Berkshire Bag Supplies
The family company founded by Mr John Gulley commenced trading in 1977 as ’Berkshire Bag Supplies’ in Reading supplying paper bags and point of sale packaging materials to independent retailers in the area.
1990
BBS Packaging Group
John Gulley’s father, Colin and brother, Martin joined as Partners in 1990, the name was changed to BBS Packaging Group to reflect its increasingly diverse range of products, including polythene bags, bubble film, self-adhesive tapes and strapping, and a push into the industrial market.
2002
In 2002 with Colin Gulley retiring, John & Martin decided they would better serve their customers by splitting the business between them to cover separate geographical areas. John continued to operate from the existing premises, with Martin trading as Swiftpak BBS from separate premises at Padworth Saw Mills.
2005
In 2005 another warehouse space was bought to accommodate strong growth, particularly in the protective packaging industry. The company’s ability to operate in a competitive market has been accentuated by importing key products directly from manufacturers in continental Europe, an emphasis on speedy delivery from stock using its own dedicated transport, as well as a quality personal service embracing honesty, integrity and a high work ethic.In order to foster this continuing expansion and being committed to promoting consistent quality both in products and customer service, the Company introduced a managed quality assurance system to comply with ISO 9001:2000.
2006
In April 2006 we became ISO 9001:2000 certified, reassuring our customers that we are striving for continuous improvement to better serve them, while maintaining a high standard of quality.We had a new building being prepared for us to move into at the end of the year 2006 to accommodate strong growth.
2007
The projected move to new premises eventually happened in July 2007, after managing the office fit out ourselves. This increased our warehouse space significantly.In November we acquired BBS Packaging, during this month all their stock from three separate warehouses was moved into our new facility.
2011
From the middle of 2011 Swiftpak has seen some major changes, operating as a Limited Company from the 1st August under the Directorship of Martin and Craig Gulley as Financial and Managing Directors. A new premises was purchased on Arrowhead Road, Theale.
2012
A London based company Bandapac was acquired in 2012 and integrated into Swiftpak from the 1st Jan 2013.
2019
G W Talbott was acquired in the beginning of 2019.Careers at Swiftpak
